My story
I learned it the hard way.
I thought I was a great communicator. I'd worked in sales, business and marketing for years, then earned a psychology degree at Western Sydney University. Then I walked into my first group home as a social worker.
I was working with children and young people facing severe mental health issues, addiction, and some of the most extreme abuse in Australia. Within 15 minutes of arriving, I had a knife held to my head. That's when I learned my communication wasn't good enough, and my real journey began: learning to communicate with anyone, anywhere.
At the same time I started Brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing, and I saw that speaking is learned the same way as fighting: reps, practice, learning from the best, and showing up.
Since then I've trained with leading vocal coaches in Los Angeles and with world-class stage and comedy actors. I've performed in TV commercials and stage plays, spoken as a keynote speaker in America, given a TEDx talk seen more than 237,000 times, written an Amazon #1 international bestseller, and hosted my own podcast.
Your voice is your greatest instrument. Learn to play it, and you can make music that inspires people and changes your world.
If you're ready to overcome speaking anxiety and become the best version of you, you're in the right place.
